Frequently Asked Question

What kind of signing do you teach?
Sign Time uses British Sign Language, taught in a speech-supported way. This means signs are used alongside spoken words, rather than instead of them, to support and encourage speech development.

What age can my baby or toddler start?
Baby Sign Time is for babies up to 12 months, and Toddler Sign Time is for children aged 1 to 4. There's no need to have attended Baby Sign Time before joining Toddler Sign Time.

Do I need any experience with sign language?
Not at all. No previous experience is needed, for either you or your child.

How long is a term and what does it cost?
A term runs for 13 weeks, including school holidays, and costs £130.

Can we try a class before committing?
Yes, free trials are available.

Do I need to wait until the start of the next term to join?
No, you can join at any time! Just get in touch.

Where and when do classes run?
Classes run on Tuesdays at Trinity Youth Centre (Baby Sign at 1.30pm, Toddler Sign at 2.45pm), and on Saturdays at 9.30am at St John's Recreation Centre, as a combined Baby and Toddler Sign class.

What should we bring?
Just yourselves, and maybe a blanket to sit on!
